New Jersey lawmaker backs sports betting for state

State Sen. Ray Lesniak is pushing to legalize sports betting in New Jersey, which could generate an estimated $600 million a year in revenue. "It's ridiculous to me that New Jersey and 45 other states cannot legally bet on sporting events, but citizens in four states can," said Lesniak. The lawmaker sued the U.S. Justice Department last year over its sports-betting policy.
