OPEI stresses importance of understanding your equipment

Residents forced to use power equipment to clean up debris after a storm should be extra careful, experts say. Kris Kiser, executive vice president of the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute, said owners of power tools should make sure they read the owner's manual before getting to work. Kiser said poles or pruners should be used to cut damaged limbs over a driveway, but stay away from ladders and electrical conductors.
