Report: More users dial up mobile phones to research, buy products

The number of mobile users making purchases from their phones has increased from 10% last year to 13% in 2010, and more consumers are tapping mobile devices to check out prices and product features, Experian Marketing Services is reporting in its holiday marketing study. Among Experian's other findings: Social networking is now responsible for more than 3% of visits to the top 500 e-tail sites, and during this year's holiday season, e-mail marketing is likely to increase by 15% to 20%, compared with last year.
