The Americans with Disabilities Act requires businesses to make "reasonable accommodations" for employees in need, requiring a case-by-case analysis of factors such as the industry and nature of the disability, writes Stephanie Rabiner. Employers aren't required to make accommodations that would have a significant negative impact on their businesses and if several accommodations would be equally effective, the employer can choose among them.
