Digital wallets can change in-flight purchasing

Digital wallets that allow cashless payments for in-flight purchases may be coming soon to airlines. "The cashless cabin has long been a goal of the airlines," says Michael Planey, a travel-technology consultant with HMPlaney Consultants. "It has largely been realized via 'store and forward' devices by flight attendants, but there are improvements to the business model that a smart wallet offers with its instant debiting function."
