District allows students to use technology on buses

Students in Manatee County, Fla., will be allowed to use technology, such as iPads and laptops, on the school bus, to allow them to do their homework on the way to and from school. Under the policy, adopted Monday, students using such devices will be allowed to have earphones in only one ear so they can still hear the bus driver. "The school bus is now an extension of the education process," said Don Ross, director of vehicle maintenance and transportation.
