Emerging markets help raise InterContinental's first-half earnings

Higher revenue lifted by demand from emerging markets boosted InterContinental Hotels Group's first-half profit. The company's profit in the first half of the year increased 23%, to $269 million, compared with the same period a year earlier, and its revenue increased 10%, to $850 million.
