Study: Contact dermatitis arises from an immune response

Contact with allergens activates innate immune and stress responses, resulting in dermatitis, researchers from Freiburg University Medical Center, Germany, report in the journal Allergy. "New mechanistic insights into the induction of [allergic contact dermatitis] identify potential targets for preventive and therapeutic intervention," the researchers wrote.
