Feds step in to investigate unexplained dolphin deaths

Federal officials have declared a rash of unexplained dolphin deaths along the Mid-Atlantic coast an "unusual mortality event," seizing a role in the investigation that could bring money for needed tests. Ninety-one dead or dying dolphins washed ashore in July, followed by 35 in the first week of August.
