GAO audit finds TSA's security threat assessment process falls short

A Government Accountability Office report says the Transportation Security Administration’s Adjudication Center, which uses contractors to perform security background checks for Transportation Worker Identification Credential cards, should bring the operations in house. TWIC cards give access to secure areas. The report states: "The Adjudication Center's timeliness and accuracy measures did not capture key data."
