Ill. city blends library and school to save money

An International Baccalaureate high school in Chicago is the first of a library-within-a-school model that Mayor Rahm Emanuel hopes to replicate citywide. Under the model, which is expected to cut costs, the library is open to the public, but there are separate school entrances to provide security for staff and students.
