Kan. Capitol roof to withstand leaks as part of $300M renovation

The dome atop the Kansas Statehouse is being clad in copper as part of a $300 million renovation. "[L]ayers of black, red and orange material added underneath the fresh copper, installed with improved anchoring techniques," should help keep leaks at bay for about 100 years, according to Jim Rinner, vice president of J.E. Dunn Construction, the project's contractor.
