A recent report on women entrepreneurs around the globe revealed some positive developments, but it also highlighted the sometimes-problematic ways in which women are portrayed by the media, writes Candida Brush. Headlines focused on women's supposed lack of confidence or fears do women a disservice, she writes, and they "reinforce gender stereotypes and erect subtle gender barriers that prevent women from considering entrepreneurship as a viable career opportunity."
