Is paying restaurant workers $15 per hour sustainable?

Despite the fact recent strikes by restaurant employees demanding they be paid twice the minimum wage were unsuccessful, many are still wondering what would happen if the workers did make their ideal $15 per hour, which restaurant owners say would bring about increased menu prices and fewer customers. "People are always going to want to make more money," IFA President and CEO Steve Caldeira said. "It comes back to, can paying higher labor costs be sustained over time in this economic environment?"
