Project update: $1B Detroit River bridge

Canada has started prep work and environmental mitigation for the $1 billion Detroit River bridge between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario, while the U.S. has started design work for the customs inspection area. Among the key tasks to be accomplished on the project's to-do list are the appointment of U.S. and Canadian representatives for the new international bridge authority and the establishment of a public-private partnership corporation. Construction is slated to begin in "either late 2015 or early 2016" and work could be completed by 2020.
