Scientist creates lifesaving fake feces

A Canadian scientist is putting friendly microbes to work against a deadly bacterial infection by creating customized artificial feces for transplanting into a patient's gastrointestinal tract. Emma Allen-Vercoe's pseudo-poop is made using a machine called the Robogut, which uses ingredients such as starch-rich indigestible cellulose to create the microbe-rich final product.
