Study finds consumers open to mobile payments, with interest in offers

About two-thirds of mobile users express an interest in mobile payments, with one of the chief draws being the chance to receive personalized and valuable offers, according to a report by Yankee Group. But the study also found that only 14% of users had completed a mobile transaction in the preceding three months. "[Y]ou need the ecosystem of players and partners working together to really put together a complete wallet solution for consumers. So specifically it's very important to have merchants and retailers on board with your solution," Yankee Group analyst Jason Armitage said.
