Viral video of failed marriage proposal is revealed to be marketing stunt

A YouTube video showing a woman rejecting a man's marriage proposal at a Connecticut baseball stadium has turned out to be a marketing stunt by the Rock Cats minor league team. The fake proposal earned over a million views and received coverage in major outlets including ESPN and CNN. "We worked with two of our staff on the skit and executed a digital strategy to set the video on a viral path; we could not be more pleased with the outcome," said Mike Abramson, Rock Cats vice president of marketing.
