Chemicals found in salmon cause concern

A study released today in the Environmental Science and Technology journal finds farm-raised salmon were shown to contain higher levels of chemicals used in flame retardants than wild salmon. Researchers were quick to note, however, the compounds are also found in various food sources and salmon is still a heart-healthy food, containing high levels of omega-3 fatty acids.
