Georgia to review textbook purchasing deals

Georgia officials are investigating complaints that textbook publisher Macmillan/McGraw Hill gave DeKalb County schools at least $1.4 million in free materials between 1997 to 2002. The deal, if substantiated, violates state regulations that require publishers to offer all schools the same price for the same textbooks.
