Some charter educators join Massachusetts teachers union

Responding to a recruitment drive, about 50 out of Massachusetts' 2,000 charter school teachers have signed up to become associate members of the Massachusetts Federation of Teachers. State Sen. Robert Antonioni, co-chairman of the Legislature's Education Committee, predicts the effort to unionize charter teachers won't go very far because most charter teachers like the flexible and innovative working conditions in charter schools.
