Report: EHRs need to be more accessible for pediatric care

EHR systems are geared toward adults, limiting their usability in pediatric care units, according to a new report. The report says EHRs need to be able to register newborns without a Social Security number, support a prenatal and a temporary identifier, and connect prenatal data to postnatal records.
