Study: U.S. outbound travel continues to break records

A study by the Department of Commerce found that 63.7 million U.S. residents traveled outside of the country in 2006, up from 63.5 million in 2005, which was a record at the time. Among other findings, the study shows that travel agents continue to book a majority of the trips and that the top five countries for Americans to visit are Mexico, the U.K., Canada, Germany and France.
