Design uses magnetic fields to keep electric cars on the road

A German designer has come up with a way to keep electric cars charged: locating the electric motor under the road. Christian Förg's network of linear electric motors, dubbed Speedway Transport System, would use a drifting magnetic field to propel electric cars over long distances. Traditional vehicles can travel over the same roadway, he noted.
