Educators: Digital textbooks are more engaging for some students

Although many schools still rely on traditional textbooks, digital options or resources are being turned to more often for students who "don't engage with textbooks that are finite, linear and rote," according to Sheryl R. Abshire, chief technology officer for a Louisiana school district. But with a large digital divide evident among many schools, educators don't expect digital textbooks to be the norm for some time.
