Food marketers increase package sizes

Smaller food packages are giving way to larger ones and bonus products as grocery marketers use limited-time promotions to avoid cutting prices. The upsizing trend, now reflected in food, household and personal-care products, also is part of an effort to boost sales volume, which has been slammed by the recession.
