Winnipeg tower named best tall building

A 23-story skyscraper in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with a variety of energy-efficient features has won the title of the year's best tall building in the Americas from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat. Completed in December 2008, the $300 million building was designed by Kuwabara Payne McKenna Blumberg Architects and Smith Carter Architects and Engineers. The design is aimed at achieving LEED gold certification.
