China's trade surplus widens as exports reach a record-high $145.5B

China's trade surplus surged to $28.7 billion in July, a 170% increase compared with the same month last year, according to the customs bureau. Exports grew to a record $145.5 billion, a 38.1% increase, while imports rose to $116.8 billion, a 22.7% gain. The trade surplus marked an 18-month high.
