Church-owned health systems provide better care, study finds

A Thomson Reuters study of 255 U.S. health systems found church-owned and Catholic-owned systems provided significantly better, more efficient care than for-profit health systems, based on eight metrics of clinical quality and efficiency. Catholic health systems also provided better care than secular not-for-profits, while for-profit health systems had the lowest performance, the study found.
