Groups find animals are lowest priority in post-earthquake Haiti

About six months after the earthquake in Haiti, the nation's animals remain at risk for infections and other threats as owners grapple with their own survival needs, animal-welfare groups reported at the recent 2010 AVMA convention. Advocates hope to eventually provide the country with tools necessary to raise public awareness on the importance of animal welfare.
