Adoption of CPOE systems accelerates to 233 hospitals a year

A KLAS Enterprises report finds that the number of hospitals implementing computerized physician order entry systems has increased from 87 before the federal standards for meaningful use of electronic health records were adopted to 233. Cerner tops the list of CPOE vendors, followed by Epic Systems, with both firms reporting that their live CPOE sites have doubled since 2009.
