Capital One to pay $2.6 billion for HSBC's credit card unit

Capital One Financial has struck its second major deal with a European firm this summer by agreeing to buy HSBC Holdings' credit card business for $2.6 billion. This latest acquisition gives Capital One more than $30 billion in credit card loans and is expected to offer cost savings of roughly $350 million.
