Common core groups provide blueprints for teaching, testing

Two groups of states currently are working on documents that will help educators teach the common core academic standards and assess student's knowledge of it. The blueprints developed by the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers and the SMARTER Balanced Assessment Consortium are available for feedback this month. "Many districts are already working on new curricula, and [the frameworks] can be a tool to help them do that," said Laura M. Slover, senior vice president of PARCC.
