Groups urge CMS to standardize Medicare quality data reporting

Eighty-two medical groups hailed the CMS for including safeguards to ensure patient and provider protection in its proposed rule on Medicare quality reporting measures, but argued that more needs to be done. The groups proposed allowing providers to review the reports prior to publication and standardizing the data collection process for both Medicare and private insurers, among other recommendations.
