Texas town's school district rolls out 25 propane autogas buses

A $2.3 million stimulus grant from the Department of Energy's Clean Cities program funded the purchase of 25 propane autogas-powered school buses and the installation of a propane fueling station at Eanes Independent School District in Westlake, Texas. The school district expects to save as much as $75,000 annually in fuel and maintenance costs by using propane. "It's a real privilege to bring districts the benefit of a clean fuel like propane," said Texas Railroad Commission Chairwoman Elizabeth Ames Jones.
