Study shows vaccine may protect against group A strep

A new, safe vaccine has been developed to fight group A streptococcal bacteria, which causes strep throat as well as a host of other medical problems, but a usable vaccine may still be years in the making. The test group was the first set of humans to receive a vaccine for group A strep in 30 years; one researcher says the study wasn't big enough to test for potentially dangerous side effects.
