Banks capitalize on Fed's gift, but risks remain

Judging from second-quarter results, banks are taking advantage of the Federal Reserve's offer to borrow money at low rates and invest in higher-yielding assets. How long the Fed's offer will last has yet to be seen, although the central bank's decision to hold short-term interest rates at 2% indicates the game continues. For investors in bank stocks, however, there are plenty of risks.
