Expansion begins on Saint-Gobain research center in Massachusetts

Despite mass layoffs in some of its business units, Saint-Gobain has broken ground on a $15 million expansion of its Research and Development Center that eventually will bring dozens of new jobs to Northborough, Mass. The lab will specialize in developing building materials, plastics, ceramics and abrasives. The Northborough location will be the largest of Saint-Gobain's four R&D centers around the world.
