Study: PET scan may help doctors diagnose Alzheimer's

Finnish researchers using PET scans to examine brain tissue had a 90% success rate in identifying people who had amyloid plaques associated with Alzheimer's disease. The study demonstrates the potential of PET imaging in diagnosing the disease and in potentially monitoring plaque deposits in the brain to evaluate the efficacy of new Alzheimer's drugs.
