Cardio risk factors change throughout puberty for obese kids

Data on 300 obese children found 62 children entering puberty showed increases in hypertension, hypertriglyceridemia and impaired fasting glucose levels. Tests of 50 children entering late puberty found decreases in hypertension, hypertriglyceridemia, impaired fasting glucose levels and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, the British study found.
