Special memorial planned for Hudson crash pilot, family

The pilot of the small plane that collided with a sightseeing helicopter over the Hudson River on Aug. 8 will be honored posthumously in November for the charity work he and his family did for many years. State of Israel Bonds, a development organization for economic projects in Israel, had planned for months to honor Ambler, Pa., native Steven Altman, 60, and his brothers Daniel and Brett this November. Daniel, 49, and his son Douglas, 15, also perished in the crash.
