Pet owners sometimes turn to cosmetic surgeries such as tail docking and ear cropping mainly for convenience and status. What pet owners fail to realize is that such procedures come with a great deal of pain and ill effects to the animal. According to this article, the AVMA says there should be a sufficient justification for performing such procedures.
