Diabetes doesn't influence diet of blacks, study finds

Ohio State University researchers said a survey of 2,589 black adults found their dietary habits were similar, even though some of the participants were diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. Adults with diabetes and prediabetes did eat more fiber than those with normal blood sugar, but the survey found the average diet was still low on fruits, vegetables, whole grains and low-fat dairy.
