Researchers look at breast cancer risk among HRT users

A U.S. study showed a higher risk of breast cancer among thinner women who used hormone replacement therapy than among women with a higher body mass index. Researchers also found that women who used estrogen therapy for at least 15 years had a 19% increased risk of breast cancer compared with nonusers, while those on combination estrogen and progestin for more than 15 years had an 83% increased risk.
