South Carolina Electric & Gas said a state Supreme Court decision this week will not delay the construction of two reactors at the V.C. Summer nuclear plant in Fairfield County. The court nullified one of the rate hikes awarded to SCE&G to cover contingency expenses associated with the project. "The Supreme Court's decision does not change the [state Public Service] Commission's issuance of a certificate of environmental and compatibility and convenience, which is required to construct the new units," said SCE&G President Kevin Marsh.
