Watchdog: Airlines violate EU passenger compensation rules

The U.K.'s Air Transport Users Council said airlines often fail to abide by European Union regulations that require them to help passengers affected by flight delays and cancellations. Flight disruptions caused by volcanic ash earlier this year put a spotlight on the regulations and prompted thousands of traveler complaints, according to the watchdog.
