Chinese city to mandate use of precast to reduce pollution

The use of precast concrete in Shanghai's government housing developments will help standardize construction and provide better-quality buildings while saving energy, say some architects. Major builders in the area have been given incentives to use precast. The use of precast concrete has been widely adopted in the U.S. and Japan.
