DOT's defense of ad rules sets up ancillary-fee battle

The Department of Transportation has made a filing with the U.S. Court of Appeals defending some of its passenger-rights rules related to advertising of air fares. The move appears to be setting the stage for another battle over requiring airlines to provide information about their ancillary fees to global distribution systems.
