Ill. districts dissolve longtime special-education cooperative

A special-education cooperative formed in 1963 between four Illinois school districts is being dissolved, with the districts agreeing to provide services at their home schools. "The need to have cooperatives anymore in this area really is going down," Brad Voehringer, an official with one district, said. "A lot of districts have gotten the expertise now. They can control their own resources and budget their own programs, and they have enough kids to run the programs."
