Marriage requirement won't soon supplant domestic-partner benefits, experts say

Even if more states legalize gay marriage, it's unlikely that employers will drop benefits for domestic partners and require couples to get married, experts say. "It won't happen anytime soon because we're not going to have [gay] marriage laws in every state for a long time," says Helen Darling, president and CEO of the National Business Group on Health.
